Three centuries later Don’s quest to see first-hand the Ring of Fire in this region, found himself visiting many of the same places and encountering the legacy and the monuments to these early explorers, with even a link to Albany.
This talk will tell the story of the steam tug Escort which worked in the Port of Albany 1888-1902, from when it was built in 1884, covering the circumstances of its loss on the south coast as well as the details of its career.
