About the event

Darren Russell is a shipwright an authorised repairer and surveyor at Emu Point.

Now one of the only wooden boat builders left in WA, Emu Point Shipwrights owner Darren Russell says his business is thriving and his company is the last frontier in Alany and other parts of WA fixing wooden boats.

A vessel that is a descendant of the Amity — a 148-tonne brig built in 1816 has a replica at the Museum of the Great Southern in Albany and was build 50 years ago. — Darren from Emu Shipwrights maintains the Amity replica

Darren will talk about the Amity Replica and other history of wooden boats connected to Albany.
