About the event

For over thirty years, Malcolm has worked to record, preserve and share Albany’s history as a consultant, presenter, author and teacher. He has written extensively on Albany and regional history in journals and have presented public talks on Albany history for the past fifteen years and worked closely with local Elders and community. He is also a national and state committee member of the Professional Historians Association.

He has also co-curated two art exhibitions and an expo at the Albany Town Hall.

Albany 2026 is an opportunity to demonstrate that Albany is still the ‘Friendly Frontier’ in terms of our commitment to equal opportunity for the Menang community and in acknowledging how the Menang community has been integral to the planning and delivery of the 2026 program.

Malcolm will tell something about the Maritime history of Albany from his latest book SOUTH
