About the event

Delve into a world where coastal communities are empowered to illustrate and co-design an innovative, resilient future for their local coastline through interdisciplinary partnership.

Imagining Coastal Resilience is a mixed media art exhibition showcasing the value which Middleton Bay (Binalup/Middleton Beach to Emu Point) holds as a special place in the community's heart.

The installation displays a large range of collage, textile, photography and poetry artworks produced by local Albany residents. Exhibited alongside are designs which landscape architecture staff and students from the UWA School of Design have been visioning for Albany’s coasts in times of future change, in response to the community artworks and values.

The project is funded by The UWA Oceans Institute Better Oceans program. The research has been endorsed by the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) for catalysing transformative ocean science solutions for sustainable development, connecting people and our ocean.
